About us

In 1957, Leonard & Millie Kulesia established K-Wood Products Co. Inc., a custom-made cabinets and specialized box company. Over time, customers took note of the specialized help they received and asked if they could also purchase lumber and other building products.

In 1967, K-Wood did just that – offering a wide range of building products to better serve the Michiana area. With an old-school and relentless work ethic, the family grew K-Wood Products from a tiny barn-style store to the pride of the west side of Sount Bend.

With the Kulesias’ expertise, the people of Sount Bend were able to find the building products they needed along with the personal attention that helped them complete their projects to the highest degree.

Today, K-Wood prides itself on that same idea – making sure that you leave our store with the best quality products and all the help you need in order to achieve your goals.

In 1957, nestled in the heart of our community, K-Wood Products opened its doors with one simple goal: to serve neighbors with quality lumber, honest service, and a handshake you could count on. Founded by hardworking hands and fueled by family values, K-Wood became more than a lumberyard — it became a cornerstone.

Over the years, generations of builders, homeowners, and contractors have passed through our yard. Some came for wood, some for advice — all left with something more: trust. Each board sold, each key cut, and each delivery made was a promise kept.

Today, K-Wood proudly operates under the leadership of both the second and third generations — continuing the legacy with the same dedication that started it all. While tools and materials have evolved, our mission remains the same: to provide quality products and personal service to every customer who walks through our door.
